Worst Day Ever!

When I think of a really bad day it goes something like this: It starts with great weather and a trip to a beautiful nearby island to explore the quaint and historic town, wander through the many parks, explore the beautiful beaches, and finish the day with a great seafood dinner. This terrible day would start out with getting lost on the way to the beach adding 20 minutes to the trip. After finding the correct route you would definitely get stuck in really bad stop and go traffic for two hours, all because of a toll bridge (2 hours in line just to pay $2.50 to go across a bridge!) When you finally get to your destination you would once again get lost on your way to the beach, and by the time you got there you would be starving and not have any food. So you would head back into town in search of something to eat, but on your way someone would pull out right in front of your car and you would get in an accident. After getting everything cleared up you would find some food and head back to the park to try to enjoy some time relaxing on the beach to wind down before heading home. When you got back to the park you would park your car grab your chairs and towels and head down the trail to the beach...and you would walk and walk and walk and not get there. At this point you would start feeling sick and decide it's time to go back to the car and go home, but you would get caught in a sudden and intense rain and thunderstorm and be soaking wet in two seconds.

Scratch the rainstorm and you would have the day that Drew and I had on Saturday. It was rather ironic that the weather was perfect and we couldn't enjoy it because of all the mishaps we had. The other really ironic thing is that we just paid off our car and when we got home the title was in our mailbox...now that our car is smashed.

In all honesty there are much worse things that could have happened to us but it really stunk!

This is the toll bridge we had to cross over the Chesapeake Bay. The day after we crossed it a semi truck drove through th e concrete barrier and off the bridge. Once again it could have been worse!

This is the island we were on. The beach we were trying to get to was behind all the condos that you can see in the background

Poor smashed up Sylvia! (That is our car's name)

And a close-up...ouch!

BUMMER!!! Don't let that stop you from site-seeing! Much easier (and more relaxing) when it is just the two of you!

That is awful. I am so sorry. It makes for a good story though! :)

It does sound like a terrible day! Sorry about your car, that really stinks that it's finally paid off and then that happens. It is good to hear that things, other than your day, are going pretty well. I hope you are enjoying the East, it has some perks. We'll keep in touch, Charlotte

Sorry to hear about your day. But like you said it could have been worse! The sights look beautiful. You guys are lucky to be able to live there. Take care!

Sorry about the day....it's always so much worse when you're planning on a nice relaxing day and it goes terribly wrong. I saw your blog on Charlotte & Brandon's page....hope you don't mind me snooping! Ann Porter
