This weekend the Hotel Cardon at Arlington Virginia once again opened its doors, but this time for my sister Stacie, her husband Tony, their 3 year old daughter Rylee, and 1 year old son Eric. Drew and I got a small taste of what it is like to have small children. We had Thanksgiving dinner together, saw some of the sights in the area, learned how to navigate the Metro with a stroller, visited Santa Clause, watched Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty, and Marry Poppins, read "Where is Baby" 10 times a day, changed one or two diapers, dried a few tears, wiped many runny noses, reminded a certain 3 year old not to pick her nose, waited patiently for a certain 3 year old to climb out of the stroller to push EVERY elevator button we came to, and observed their wonderful and patient mother take care of them with grace and patience. We loved having them stay with us, but we are glad that next Saturday morning no small boys will be waking us up between 6 and 7 in the morning.

The capitol never looks nearly as good in pictures as it does in real life.

Eric was always happiest when he was in his stroller exploring the world

Drew is now an expert at pushing strollers around the city.

Standing under the arch we built at the Building Museum.
Thanks for a great holiday weekend Mechams! We hope you enjoyed the trip in spite of our tiny apartment and will come and visit us again!
