Summer Fun

Alas, summer is over. I have been in school for a few weeks now and Aimee will start on Tuesday. The summer has gone by much too fast. We had some good times this summer but we are glad for the change of pace that the school year brings. This year I am working at the same firm I have been at for the last year and a half and Aimee is going back to the same school she has been at for 2 years now, so the routine will be easier this year than others.

Here are a few updates to our lives that are worth mentioning. I have now started my LAST year of law school. I will be 100% done in May and at that point I will decide what to do with my life after school. Aimee is also looking at starting into a graduate program in math next year so we are excited to see what schools she gets into. She is looking at a couple schools in the DC area and the U so we will have to see what happens. Either way it will be an adventure.

In anticipation of starting graduate school we visited the U while we were in Utah. Michelle came along with us since she is now attending the U.

Were also able to get together with some friends. We didn't end up getting many pictures but here is a good one of us with Emily.

We were lucky to be in Cache Valley when during the week that the rodeo came to town. My whole family got to go. Above is AJ and his girlfriend Kayleee. We ended up spending part of our week in Logan working in AJ's bookstore sorting books - it was a lot of fun. It always amazes us how many books he goes through!

Here is a fantastic picture of my mom and Elisa at the rodeo. Even though it was super hot during the day we still got cold enough we had to put on jackets before the night was through. After the rodeo we took our traditional walk through the cattle shed to look at the steers. While there we explained to Aimee and Kaylee the difference between a Bull and Steer. Luckily there were visual examples to clarify several misunderstandings.

My sisters Elisa and Marianna also recently got back from Europe. They visited 7 countries and showed us a slide show of all there pictures adding commentary. Above is Samantha and my Grandma. In the background you can see one of 3 Cello cases. Also scattered around our house you will find 2 pianos, 1 flute, 1 french horn, a recorder, a trumpet and possibly other instruments depending on the day. Here are Marianna and and Camille at the Rodeo. As always Marianna is cheesing up the picture. She graduated a year early from high school this year and started at USU. She was also able to have an associates degree before she finished and got a scholarship. Lets just say she was super busy! Camille also started middle school this year and had grown about a foot since last Christmas!

Back in DC after our trip we have done quite a few fun things. One thing we have done twice now and really like is kayaking on the Potomac river. You can go right by some of the major landmarks and get away from the crowds.

My cousin Ashley, her husband Nick and their baby Ike came to DC because Nick's brother married a girl from McLean. It was good to see them and spend part of the day sightseeing with them.
